This weekend has some absolutely lovely events in the most wonderful venues.
Liss Ard Estate, Skibbereen, opens again this weekend following massive refurbishment with something completely out of the ordinary 'The Glass Orchestra' with concert pianist, Ali Morrison (see below). Early bookings advisable. This will be an amazing musical experience. 028-40000.
Inis Beg, Baltimore, hosts 'Edible Gifts for Xmas'  Cookery Courses for Kids this weekend, with Georgiana and Ophelia Keane. This takes place on Saturday and Sunday from 2-5pm. It's for children aged 8 to 15 and costs €30.
Glebe Gardens Christmas Craft Emporium, Baltimore this Saturday 18th to Thursday 23rd 10am to 6pm, and Christmas Eve 10am to 3pm.  enjoy mulled wine, local crafts and food, soup and sandwiches, tea and cakes.
Glass Orchestra at Liss Ard

Join us for sound-light meditation at Liss Ard Estate, Skibbereen with a staged-improvisational performance directed by Ali Morrison, concert pianist, and played on glass or porcelain vessels. Participants who want to be part of the orchestra are invited to The Workshop and audience welcomed to The Performance.

The Workshop: Participants are to bring 3 or 4 smooth uncut glass or porcelain vessels for assessment by our virtuoso.  Then assemble by 5.30pm before the performance to tune your instruments and rehearse. Wear black, be prepared to sit on the floor and bring a cushion.

The Performance:  The candle-lit world of sound and light calls you to listen to the resonance of vibrating glass.

Workshop attendees arrive 4pm, Saturday 18 December €12 (including mulled wine and nibbles)

Audience to arrive 7pm, Saturday 18 December €12 (including mulled wine and nibbles served at 7pm)

Festive cheer starts here with a carol concert at the magical Liss Ard Estate, Skibbereen directed by Ali Morrison, concert pianist.

Roaring fires, mulled wine and your company is all we need.
